Semi Wordless Wednesday

Later this month Steve turns the big 3 0! We were planning on doing a scotch tour of Scotland with some friends but unfortunately work is requiring him to be in Boston & NY for his birthday. I was really not looking forward to spending 8 days here on my own. As much as I like living here its still not super easy & being alone would have been really tuff. I was talking to my parents about the situation and I got a little miracle. Dad found a dirt cheap flight to Atlanta! So I'm flying home for 2 weeks when Steve heads to Boston for work. We're a little disappointed to not be spending his birthday together but we're planning a nice 4 day trip in August to celebrate.

I'll be spending the first week or so of my trip in Atlanta, running errands, helping my mom & dad, seeing friends and laying in target just breathing it all in. Then we are headed to Asheville for a week of R&R. These are my plans for my week in my favorite city in America!

I am finally going to try BBQ at 12 Bones

I can't wait to drink some Rocket Girl!

Dad and I are going to drive along the Blue Ridge Parkway

I can't wait to eat at the Grove Park Inn

Mom & I will go for drinks in the foyer of our favorite hotel, the Grove Park Inn

Asheville has some of the best breweries & I plan to drink lots of good beer

Even if we don't take the LaZoom tour I will love seeing the big purple bus around town!

We might take a trip to sliding rock and take a dip

Tubing! I plan to go tubing at least 3-4 times during my visit!

I can't wait to visit multiple waterfalls in the area!

I am over the moon that I am getting to home for 2 weeks. I am going to eat lots of Mexican food & chick fil a, visit friends, meet new babies & most importantly see my parents who I'm missing a lot!

Do you have any super exciting plans for the month of July? Fan of Asheville - anything else I should do?

Wordless Wednesday

Royal Ascot ended this past Saturday - we saw a lot of people in & around the Reading station all dressed up with their suits & dresses & hats. Unfortunately I didn't have my camera but these hats were all pretty usual. I'm in love with the idea of big fancy hats so that's the theme of my wordless Wednesday. Enjoy!

This one made me laugh, though I don't get it

Cadbury's Chocolate

Pims Hat

Marie Antoinette big hair hat

My Little Pony hat

Not sure the theme but the dress matches the hat... or the other way round

Big flower hat

Tea for Two

Union Jack bow

London hat

99p Hat!

More flower power

Artsy hat!

For those rainy Ascot days

Have you ever worn a fabulous hat? What are your favorite hat themes?

Wordless Wednesday

I am taking a page out of Cole's book today & I am joining a link up from the SITS Girls. I love that my readers are mostly family & friends but I would like to get my blog out into the bigger blogging community and reach a wider audience & I am hoping this might be a good way to start. Unfortunately I missed the first 2 days of this link up but today's theme is a Summer Bucket List. Since it's still Wordless Wednesday I am going to use both themes by making a bucket list of places we want to visit this summer!

Barcelona, Spain - some friends spent 3 weeks there last month and I just spent an hour drooling over their photos. Beach + culture + good food = LOVE

Marseilles, France - We just found out the Eurostar goes to the south of France! I can practice my french while laying on the beach... How do you say "another class of wine please?" Haha

Edinburgh, Scotland - Not your typical summer vacation spot but we figure its nicer to visit in the summer when its not freezing & covered in snow

St Agnes - This is in the UK. No, I'm not lying (though I had to double check google maps a few times). It's a tiny island off the coast of Cornwall

Spit, Croatia - Eastern Europe is often forgotten by Americans & can be less expensive then some of the more obvious beach destinations. Plus I want to swim in this waterfall!

Greece - anywhere really. I've never been and I'm dying to go and take photos and lay out and eat amazing food.

These are just some of the places I would love to visit this summer - What's on your summer bucket list?

Wordless Wednesday

One of the biggest thing we said before we moved here was this was going to be a new start for us - we were going to be healthier, kick bad habits and just live better, happier lives. Unfortunately we've fallen into the same sort of rut as we were in back home. Recently we figured making a few small changes would put us on the right path. I bought us a smoothie blender which has helpful with breakfasts. Steve is walking either to or from work to get in some steps as opposed to taking the bus both ways.

Ive got a few things I would love to have to help on this lifestyle change - here they are:

We have a bender but I would love a more powerful nutribullet! My dream blender is a Vitamix, but since they're $700+ here its a long way off

Simple black speedo. Steve found a local gym with a pool that I'm planning to join next week so having a simple athletic looking swimsuit would be great to have.

These old school, bright colored New Balance sneakers! Maybe not to the gym, more for day to day but how cute & comfy do they look?

These sassy wedding workout tanks are so cute! I plan on ordering one (or 6) when we go back to the US in October.

What items would you make your healthy lifestyle more on point? Own any of these things? Love them? Hate them? Let me know!

Wordless Wedding Wenesday

This may be the beginning of my bridezilla tendencies (says the women without a wedding date) but I want my wedding to be a surprise. I don't want everyone to know ahead of time all the little touches I've done, the traditions I am using and the ones I'm not. I don't want all of it to be on pinterest so people compare my wedding to someone else's. In spite of that here are some things I know you will see at my wedding... whenever it is.

Steve got my the earnings for valentines day so I just need the necklace for the honeymoon

I'm not a big into flowers but I love the look of these chandeliers

I love this photo - I just image myself cheesing into the mirror

Steve likes to drink & so do I so signature drinks are a must have (along with an open bar)

No ring bearers at my wedding, for my diamonds I need top notch ring security

Sometimes I feel like this should be my blog's tag line

You know if you follow me on social media I'm a hashtag fiend!

We need these now :)

These are just some of my many wedding ideas. Were you/are you like me? Don't want to reveal too much before the big day? Have any wedding planning advice for me? Leave me a comment below!

Wordless Wednesday

Living overseas means travel. Lots and lots of travel. Over the years I have found some things that I can't live without. Here is my list of must haves for a weekend trip.

Good walking shoes - mine are Chacos but look a lot like theses

Extra phone battery - mine only lasts 5 hours or so

Clinique acne solution - must have if you have skin like mine

My LL Bean rain coat - because you never know when it's gonna rain

My planner, to keep everything organized

Splenda can be hard to find so these tables save my life when I'm traveling

Perfect pink polish, easy to give myself a quick mani on the go

My clarisonic - can't live without it

Longchamp luggage, light weight, perfect carry on size. Fits Steve & my clothes for a weekend trip

My overnight Kate Spade tote - its perfect carry on size & looks enough like a purse that the airlines call it a personal item.

My IKEA backpack, perfect for day trips and it folds into nothing

Kate Spade cross body - big enough for the basics & not too heavy when its full

Bath & Bodywork's lip gloss, I stocked up before we left

Costa sun glasses, no matter where I am they are perfect and if they ever break they will replace them

Cant live with out my Younique mascara, perfect for day eyes & dramatic night eyes

My DSLR. I rarely leave home without it - have to document my travels for my blog

My chaco sandals - perfect for day trips in the warmer weather

Those are my must haves for travel - what can you not live without when you travel?
